M. Biological Safety

The UNH Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) assures the safe acquisition, use, and disposal of all biological agents and recombinant DNA at UNH. It is the responsibility of the IBC to establish appropriate health and safety policies in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and guidelines that cover biological safety and evaluate research being conducted at UNH for biological safety considerations.

PIs/PDs are responsible for ensuring that their research, teaching, and service activities with biological agents and recombinant DNA are registered and approved by the UNH IBC. The IBC registration form is available on the UNH Office of Environmental Health and Safety’s (OEHS) Website.

Web-based Training

OEHS has developed Web-based training for Biological Safety on UNH Blackboard. Personnel participating in projects involving biological agents and recombinant DNA must complete this module.
