F. Intellectual Property

The UNH Office for Research Partnerships and Commercialization (ORPC) develops and manages UNH’s intellectual property portfolio. The UNH Intellectual Property Policy describes UNH’s and PIs’/PDs’ responsibilities for intellectual property asset management, including invention disclosure, and how the assets and rights of the institution, faculty, staff, and students are protected.

Each PI/PD is responsible for filing an Intellectual Property Participation Agreement with the ORPC once during his/her career at UNH. If not done otherwise, the PI/PD will be prompted to file before a sponsored programs award for the PI/PD is accepted by UNH.

In addition, PIs/PDs are responsible for filing with ORPC disclosures for each invention resulting from their work as UNH employees and/or work using UNH’s facilities and resources.

OPRC prepares, negotiates, and executes intellectual property related agreements on behalf of UNH and UNH PIs/PDs.

Web-based Training
