| E. Project Close Out
PIs’/PDs' penultimate responsibilities on sponsored projects pertain to project close out. PIs/PDs must carry out these responsibilities according to the timeline set by the sponsor. Failure to do so can result in lack of reimbursement by the sponsor to UNH for project expenses incurred, or financial or other penalties. All sponsors require some form of final technical or narrative report on project accomplishments. Federal awards require invention disclosure reports. The types and frequency of reports that must be submitted to the sponsor are outlined in the award terms and conditions. Projects with sub-agreements require a separate close out process for each sub-agreement prior to closure of the primary award. PIs/PDs are responsible for approving the final work for each sub-agreement and notifying their OSR GCA that all requirements have been met so that the sub-recipient’s final invoice can be paid. Final approval of sub-recipient work must be accomplished by the PI/PD within a time frame that will allow UNH to meet the reporting requirements of the primary sponsor. PIs/PDs should contact their UNH OSR GCA* for assistance with report submissions. Additional Help See Award Closeout Tips and Tricks for additional help. *PIs/PDs in EOS should contact their BSC. |
