| 3. Sub-recipients
PIs/PDs should budget for sub-recipient costs (as opposed to vendor purchases, consultants, or service providers) when the proposed sub-recipient will perform a substantive portion of the work of the sponsored project. (A common example of a sub-recipient is a scientific collaborator at another academic institution.) Sub-recipients are appropriate for particular phases or areas of sponsored projects that have been identified in both UNH’s proposal to and subsequent award from the prime sponsor, and where UNH maintains overall scientific, administrative, and financial responsibility. PIs/PDs planning to include sub-recipients as part of their project should contact their OSR GCA* well in advance of the proposal deadline. Certain electronic proposal processes, such as grants.gov, require proposed sub-recipient participation in completing electronic budget forms. PIs/PDs must submit a completed Subaward Proposal Cover Sheet and the proposed sub-recipient’s project proposal for each sub-recipient along with the PI’s/PD’s main project proposal to their OSR GCA* well in advance of the ultimate sponsor’s deadline. The GCA will review the comprehensive proposal for submission. *PIs/PDs in EOS should contact their BSC. |
