PIs/PDs have three main areas of responsibility in conducting sponsored projects at UNH: I. Proposal Development and Submission PIs/PDs are responsible for identifying funding, writing proposals, and securing internal approval for proposal submission. UNH Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) staff members provide technical assistance in all phases of the process from finding funding sources to editing proposals, preparing budgets, completing administrative forms, and assisting with electronic submissions. Proposals are reviewed, approved, and submitted* to sponsors on behalf of UNH by the PI’s/PD’s OSR Grant and Contract Administrator (GCA). II. Financial, Administrative, and Programmatic Management of Awards Federal, state, sponsor and UNH regulations and policies guide the financial, administrative, and programmatic management of sponsored projects. These regulations and policies address the terms and conditions of the award, expense management, reporting requirements, award close out, and post award activities. III. Conduct and Compliance The conduct of sponsored projects is guided by regulations and policies designed to ensure the integrity of the project, enhance the objectivity of the research, and protect the health and safety of everyone involved in a project. *EOS PIs/PDs should contact their BSC regarding who submits the proposal to the sponsor. |
