Proposal Preparation, Internal Routing and Internal Proposal Review

Process

PI/PD confirms eligibility for the award by reviewing the Request for Proposal (RFP) and/or consulting with the funding sponsor program representative, and/or the UNH OSR PPD Manager.

PI/PD sends the RFP to the UNH OSR Grant and Contract Administrator (GCA) for review as soon as he/she decides to submit a proposal. (Don't know who your GCA is?)

PI/PD drafts project proposal narrative and requests feedback from PPD Manager, UNH peers, Department Chair, and/or Dean.

PI/PD completes project budget with assistance from UNH OSR GCA.

PI/PD completes the Internal Approval Form (Yellow Sheet) and obtains appropriate signatures.

If applicable, PI/PD completes Cost Sharing and/or Additional Faculty/Staff Form.

PI/PD inquires with GCA about applicable compliance issues on Internal Approval Form, and follows through as appropriate.

For research involving human subjects, the PI/PD must submit an application for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review to the UNH OSR Research Integrity Services (RIS) Manager prior to commencing the study.

For research involving vertebrate animals, the PI/PD must submit an application for review by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and receive IACUC approval. This form should be forwarded to the RIS Manager and receive IACUC approval prior to commencing the study.

For Anticipated Subagreements:

  • PI/PD submits subrecipient’s proposed budget and scope of work to UNH OSR GCA;
  • GCA reviews subrecipient’s budget and incorporates subrecipient's proposal into UNH proposal; and
  • GCA provides subrecipient with required forms, including certifications and W-9.
