The Operating Staff Council has created task action groups to focus on three main goals for 2008:
- Work with the administration and the Human Resources Department to implement a 360-degree or upward review performance assessment process.
- Work with the university to create a Mediation Board that will protect employees' rights and ensure fairness through the consistent enforcement of University policies and regulations.
- Improve existing methods of communicating with constituents (OS Council web page, distribution of meeting minutes, communication boards), while also seeking new ways to reach out to operating staff. New ideas include a "bring-a-friend" program, where representatives invite staff members to accompany them to council meetings, or face-to-face meetings with individuals or small groups from their districts.
