Reports
from Standing Committees
Ø
Compensation and Benefits: Did not meet this month.
Ø
Communications: Committee will be
taking a OS Council group photo at April’s meeting to be placed on the website.
Expressed desire that all council members be present for that meeting. Council brochures are being printed to put
on the AOP information table at the AOP Conference on March 22nd and
also to have available for Open Enrollment in October. Lastly website will honor a particular
department or committee with a thank you so anyone with a particular department
in mind please email to Erika.
Ø
Development-Committee has not had a
chance to meet.
Ø
SPPC-Discussed
research done pertaining to medical insurances. There are only two main insurance companies handling NH so
options are few leading to limited contractual possibilities. At one time USNH was self-insured.
Ø
Transportation-Another member of the transportation committee will be attending the
council meeting in April to discuss possible changes to parking policy’s
and fees.
On March 6th there was a joint council meeting with the PAT’s, David Butler, Candace Corvey, and USNH Benefits office to discuss the Benefits Cost Containment proposals and what they mean to staff. Since this meeting the OS council has been seeking feedback/questions from constituents about the proposals and will continue to do so in order to inform constituents as well as to capture FAQ that can be sent to David Butler to add to a FAQ brochure he will have created for publishing on the website.
At this meeting on the 6th we voted in Scott Healey to represent District 3.
Voted into the council today was Chris Hamann to represent District 12. That leaves us with District four as the only vacant district we have at this time.
Next month a student will join us to inform us of Ben Franklin Day that is being organized by students and to see if anyone is interested in volunteering to help with the day. The Vice-Chair of the Student Body will also be at the meeting to speak on the goals of the students, what is happening with them and how they view UNH staff.
The
meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully
submitted, Erika Clifford
