President Hart stopped by to meet
the members of the Council.
Holly had nothing new to report.
Gregg noted that the campus is
getting ready for the arrival of the students on 8/31. Classes begin 9/3. In memory of September 11th there will be some activities planned-information is forthcoming.
9/17 is University Day when the President will give her first address and
following will be the University picnic.
Patsy reported that the PAT Council
June meeting revolved around discussion of benefits cost containment and when
they would be meeting.
Karin
asked for a volunteer to maintain the global list. She asked if Ed would be interested in the task and he said he
would look into getting more information about the list.
Acceptance
of the June minutes.
There
was discussion about shift differential and the need to look at the policy for
shift differential for clarification as it seems to have a lot of confusion
surrounding shift differential.
Mark
briefed us on the meeting with the Trustees.
He reported they are open to reviewing Sick Pool guidelines.
Discussion
ensued about the Sick Pool and the proposal draft of the plan that Belinda put
together. Greg offered a suggestion to
find a way of measuring cost savings that could occur as an outcome of this
initiative.
Next
SPPC meeting is September 26th.
Development
committee has scheduled Pat Madsen to come to Oct. meeting.
Respectfully
submitted, Erika Clifford
Next meeting: September 4th in the Trustees Board Room, Thompson Hall.
