Research Topic: Towards Colombian Marine Fisheries Management

Description of Research

In order to address one aspect of the current dire state of marine fisheries worldwide, the goal of this study is to develop a first approximation of a fisheries management plan in Colombia based on the existing situation. This plan will respond to this national necessity based on work with various groups (scientists, artisanal fishermen, industrial fishermen, trade, and administrative sectors) that are involved directly and indirectly with fisheries management in this country. This plan will be the effort of each separate sector in addition to being the integration of all points of view into a comprehensive management strategy.
