Delong Zhao, NRESS first-year PhD student (working with Xiangming Xiao in Complex Systems Research Center) “Using GPS remote sensing to study wild bird migration and highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza”, a talk about his half-year of field work in Poyang Lake, China. |
February 28 |
Dr. Cameron Wake, Associate Research Professor, Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space & Department of Earth Sciences, UNH. Dr. Wake, a paleoclimatologist, will discuss the work currently underway at EOS, and his current focus on public engagement and making research socially relevant. |
| March 6 | No NRESS seminar so folks can attend The COLSA Dean's Visionary Seminar, Maria Pallavicini, Dean, School of Natural Sciences, University of California, Merced. Dr. Pallavicini is the Founding Dean of the first university started in the 21st Century and will be providing insight about the future of the life sciences and faculty development. |

| April 3 | Verna DeLauer, NRESS PhD student (working with Andy Rosenberg) and the New England Science/Policy Coordinator for COMPASS-UNH, will present “Making Sense of Marine Ecosystem-Based Management: A Cognitive Developmental Perspective”, a talk she will give at two upcoming conferences: New England Educational Research Organization & American Association of Geographers. |

| April 24 | Dr. Brian Windmiller, founder of Hyla Consulting in Concord, MA, specializes in population and habitat use studies of rare amphibians, reptiles and aquatic invertebrates for regulatory agencies, in addition to participating in a variety of research projects and teaching wetland ecology at Harvard University (Radcliffe College).
