Honoring the teacher and the school for contributing to the advancement of student participation in research.

NATIONAL AWARDS:

The five students from the NNE and the five students from the SNE symopsia who are selected to present their research orally will be invited to an expense-paid trip to the National JSHS. The first place and second place winners of the Northern New England and the first and second place winners of the Southern New England region will be invited to present his or her paper in competition with first and second place winners from the other 48 JSHS regions at the National JSHS symposium.

Army/Navy/Air Force Scholarship awards at the National Symposium will be presented as follows:

 Six - 1st place Scholarship Awards 

(Including the award made at the regional level, a total of up to an $18,000 scholarship, payable at a certain amount per year for 4 years)

Six - 2nd place Scholarship Awards

(Including the award made at the regional level, a total of up to a $10,000 scholarship)

 $6,000

 Six - 3rd place Scholarship Awards

(Including the award made at the regional level, a total of up to $6,000 scholarship)

 $2,000

An expense paid trip to the London International Youth Science Forum, an exchange program which brings together over 400 participants from 60 nations. The London trip is awarded to each of the 1st place finalists; the runner-ups are alternate winners.

 

Eligibility for scholarship awards

Students must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States to be eligible for the government-supported scholarship awards.
