New Hampshire Mountaineering
The White Mountains of New Hampshire offer a unique opportunity to the members of the New Hampshire Outing Club, for winter mountaineering. Mt. Washington, known to have some of the worst weather in the world, is a popular location for mountaineering, along with other peaks in the Presidential Range, and Franconia Ridge.
Winter Mountaineering Training
For club members that have completed Leadership Training, and are inerested in learning the skills required to lead a mountaineering trip, the NHOC holds Winter Mountaineering Training each year. Participants learn proper ice axe use, and self-arrest, crampon use, as well as time management. Anyone interested should contact the Trip Coordinators, or a club officer.
