DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire Therapeutic Riding
Program seeks volunteers for its summer session.
The session begins July 21 and ends August 27. Classes will be held
Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.
and on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m.
A training and orientation session for new volunteers will be held
Wednesday, July 14 at 4 p.m., in the Light Horse Classroom at the
UNH Horse Barns.
For further information, please contact the UNH Therapeutic Riding
Program at (603) 862-0131 or see their Website at http://www.trp.unh.edu.
The UNH Therapeutic Riding Program provides recreational and therapeutic
activities to children and adults with various physical, mental
and emotional disabilities. Volunteers have direct contact with
students, helping to ensure a safe and fun lesson environment, and
helping students achieve their therapeutic and educational goals.
No prior experience with horses is necessary. Time commitment for
volunteers is flexible, and can be as little as 45 minutes, one
day per week.
