DURHAM, N.H. – Thousands of parents and family members will
join their University of New Hampshire students for a weekend of
fun activities at Family Weekend 2003, Oct. 3-5.
Family Weekend is designed to bring students and their families
together for some “quality time” during this weekend,
encouraging all members of the family to be part of the university
community.
The highlight of the weekend is the University Picnic on the lawn
of Thompson Hall Saturday, Oct. 4. In addition to the picnic, the
event will include free photo buttons for the entire family, a DJ
providing music, appearances by Wild E. Cat, student group demonstrations
and new building tours lead by Greek leaders.
Many departments have organized events during this weekend that
showcase special exhibits, demonstrations, performances or programs.
Parents and students can drop in to one of the classroom technology
demonstrations, view the University Museum’s Scheier Exhibit
special program at the Dimond Library, attend the UNH Jazz Band
concert or visit the IROP Adventure Symposium at the New England
Center. For the entire list of Family Weekend 2003 festivities,
visit www.unh.edu/parents and click on Family Weekend. There also
will be a Campus Resource Fair, Saturday morning featuring dozens
of campus organizations showcasing their contributions to the undergraduate
experience.
Family weekend is sponsored by the UNH Parents Association.
