DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire's Great Bay Coast
Watch will host a panel discussion of a proposed regional outfall
sewer pipe Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Newington Town Hall.
Senate Bill 70 calls for a study of the feasibility of combining
the wastewater from communities in the New Hampshire portion of
the Piscataqua River basin and discharging it into the Atlantic
Ocean through an outfall pipe.
The panel will include representatives from the New Hampshire Estuaries
Project, Strafford Regional Planning Commission and the UNH research
community, as well as local citizens.
The discussion is part of the Annual Great Bay Coast Watch Chili
and “Chowdah” Fest, celebrating 14 years of volunteer
water quality monitoring. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m., and
a potluck contribution of chili, chowder, salad or dessert would
be greatly appreciated.
