The University of New Hampshire is cooperating with the Durham Police Department in its investigation of four burglaries that occurred in apartment buildings in the downtown area over the last month.

According to Durham police, the incidents took place on Main Street, Park Court and Dennison Road. There was no forced entry.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Durham Police Department at 868-2324.

University officials and local police are encouraging residents to be vigilant and report any strange behavior or persons. They also urge residents to use common sense. That includes being aware of your surroundings, locking doors, putting screens on windows and replacing outside lights that have burned out.

While the incidents have not occurred on the UNH campus, officials overseeing summer activities have been notified. More than 80 blue light safety phones are located across the campus and can be used to directly contact emergency officials.

For more information contact Erika Mantz, 862-1567, or Sharon Keeler, 862-1566, in University Relations.
