Master Stone Wall Builder Conducts Workshop at UNH

WHAT:
Kevin Gardner, master stone wall builder and New Hampshire Public Radio humanities reporter, will conduct a stone wall building workshop, leading students in rebuilding a stone wall on McDaniel Drive.

WHEN:
Tuesday, April 16, from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

WHERE:
McDaniel Drive in front of Hubbard Hall. McDaniel Drive is a right turn off Mill Road as you head away from downtown Durham.

BACKGROUND:
Gardner is the author of "The Granite Kiss: Traditions and Techniques of Building New England Stone Walls." He will work with students in David Watters' class, New Hampshire Literature and the Sense of Place, as well as with classes from the Thompson School. The event is sponsored by the James H. Hayes and Claire Short Hayes Chair in the Humanities.
