DURHAM, N.H. -- High school juniors and seniors and their families are invited to the University of New Hampshire College Fair, which brings representatives from 255 universities and colleges under one roof.
The UNH College Fair 2001 will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, Sept. 21, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Field House on Main Street. Sponsored by the New England Association for College Admissions Counseling, the College Fair not only provides students and their families a chance to pick up information but also the opportunity to consult guidance counselors who can help them locate the right schools for their field of interest.
Financial aid advisers from various New Hampshire colleges will be on hand to answer questions, as will representatives from federal and state education funding sources.
A wide variety of schools participate in the UNH College Fair, from the large universities such as Northeastern, Brown and Columbia, to small, liberal-arts colleges such as Simmons, Bates and Bowdoin. Rensselaer and Wentworth Institutes of Technology will attend, as well as New Hampshire Community Technical Colleges and Institute.
Barbara Wheatcraft, UNH College Fair coordinator, encourages students to come with a list of questions regarding admissions criteria, academic programs and costs. For more information, contact Wheatcraft at 862-2887, or call the guidance office of your local high school.
