DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire's fraternities and sororities will join forces with the Durham Police Department Sunday, Oct. 21, to co-sponsor the second annual charity softball tournament and cookout. The all-day event, featuring food and music, is free and open to the public and will take place on the fields of Oyster River High School. Proceeds from this year's event go to the national team training for the Run for Leukemia Research.

"This event stands for a day of fun to celebrate the fundraising efforts of the UNH Greek community for a specific charity," says Steve Pappajohn, coordinator of Greek affairs at UNH. "Although most of the chapter fundraising has been completed, we strongly encourage folks who attend to leave a donation in one of our donation cans at the event on Sunday." For more information, please contact the Durham Police Department, 868-2324, or the Office of Greek Affairs, 862-1002.
