Environmental Assessment of Tanzania Focus of March 8 UNH TalkBy Sharon Keeler UNH News Bureau February 19, 2001 DURHAM, N.H. -- An environmental assessment of Tanzania will be the focus of a Thursday, March 8, talk at the University of New Hampshire. Titled "Environmental Impact Assessment: Experiences From Tanzania," the lecture will be given by Hussein Sosovele, a sociologist and senior research fellow at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. It takes place in James Hall, Room 211, at 12:40 p.m. and is open to the public. Sosovele conducts research, and consults on environmental and socio-economic issues, and conducts policy analysis and environmental impact assessments. His areas of interest include the sociology of natural resource use, agriculture and livestock systems, food production, sustainable land management systems, policy and institutional analysis and environmental assessment and management. Sosovele's talk is sponsored by UNH's Office of Sustainablity Programs, Center for International Education, International Research Opportunities Program, and the Ruth E. Harrington Fund. |
