Volunteers Sought for UNH Great Bay Coast WatchBy Sharon Keeler UNH News Bureau DURHAM, N.H. -- Do you want to know more about the health of our estuaries and coastline? Great Bay Coast Watch, a group of seacoast residents working with the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension / Sea Grant, is looking for additional volunteers for a variety of ongoing coastal projects. These projects include baseline monitoring for water quality, walking shorelines looking for and sampling possible pollution sources and a hazardous algae bloom (red tide), and sampling and identifying phytoplankton populations on a weekly basis. No previous experience is necessary, and training is provided.
