Merrill Elected to USNH Board of Trustees

DURHAM, N.H.--Amanda Merrill of Durham has been elected an alumni trustee to the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees. Elected by fellow University of New Hampshire alumni, she succeeds retiring trustee Dudley Dudley, and will serve a four-year term.
Merrill, a 1974 graduate of UNH with a bachelor's degree in psychology, also earned a doctoral degree from Dartmouth College in 1978. She was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1989 and served until 1998. During her final two years at the State House, she served as the Deputy Democratic Leader. Merrill is also a member of the Audubon Society of New Hampshire and Leadership New Hampshire.
From 1992 to 1998, she served on the board of directors of the UNH Alumni Association and on numerous board committees, including the executive, program and nominating committees, and as chair of the legislative affairs committee.
