DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire Marine Docent Program is holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingman Farm, Highway 155 in Madbury.

This volunteer program is looking for people who love the ocean, and wish to learn more about marine environments and share their knowledge with others. No experience is necessary; just commitment and the ability to attend educational sessions Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning in mid-September.

UNH Marine Docents provide a window on the marine world to a wide range of audiences. They take the ocean to the classroom through their SEATREK programs, monitor coastal and estuarine environments, give tours of UNH marine laboratories, and teach aboard the UNH research boat, the Gulf Challenger.

For more information, call Barbara or Sharon at 749-1565.
