DURHAM, N.H. – Police are searching for the assailant in a late-night robbery that allegedly occurred in the wooded area between Health Services and Main Street on the University of New Hampshire campus. A male, who is not a UNH student, reported that he had been hit in the face and his wallet stolen around 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
The assault was reported to police about an hour after it occurred. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the description. The victim described his assailant as a black male, 6 feet tall, wearing a blue baseball hat and a hooded UNH sweatshirt.
UNH Police issued a campus crime alert on this assault in compliance with the Clery Act. The Clery Act is federal legislation that requires all colleges and universities with federal financial aid programs to keep and disclose information about campus crimes.
