DURHAM, N.H. – Nobel Peace Prize team member Berrien Moore III will deliver the keynote address at the ninth annual University of New Hampshire Undergraduate Research Conference Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the Strafford Room at the Memorial Union Building, on the Durham campus.

The conference, which begins Friday, April 18, 2008, and continues through Saturday, April 26, features hundreds of UNH students from all academic disciplines presenting the results of their research, scholarly, and creative works in an array of professional and artistic venues campus wide.

Moore is director of Climate Central, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to providing the public, business and civic leaders, and policymakers with objective and understandable information about climate change and potential solutions.

His address titled, "A Faustian Bargain—Yet Grounded in Science," will provide a detailed view of how Earth's climate is changing faster than scientists have predicted, the dramatic impact of these changes on the Earth, and how we can solve the problem.

Moore has been a prominent participant in both the scientific investigation and policymaking aspects of climate change for nearly 30 years. From 1987 through 2007, he was the founding director of the renowned Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space (EOS) at UNH. Recently, he was among a worldwide network of scientists awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its work with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which shared the prize with former Vice President Al Gore.
