NH Sea Grant
DURHAM, NH – The Great Bay Coast Watch hosts its annual potluck “Chili and Chowdah Fest” at the Newington Town Hall Thursday, Nov. 29, from 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, celebrates the Watch’s 18th season.
The Watch, which is sponsored by NH Sea Grant and University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, had a successful season thanks to its many volunteers. It was made possible by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management under the Coastal Management Act and in conjunction with the NH Coastal Program at the Department of Environmental Services.
Keynote speaker Charlie French from UNH Cooperative Extension will discuss the prototype for the new web-based “CAP-Map.” This GIS-based map will help communities and organizations to share information about the state’s assets and resources.
Beverages, breads and desserts will be provided. Those attending are encouraged to bring other items to share, including chili, chowder, appetizers or salads. Recipes for these items are encouraged as well. For more information or to RSVP for the potluck, please contact Great Bay Coast Watch coordinator Ann Reid at 603.749.1565 or email@example.com by Wednesday, Nov. 28.
