WHAT: New England Economic Forecast presented by Ross Gittell, University of New Hampshire James R. Carter Professor and professor of management, at the New England Economic Partnership (NEEP) fall conference.

WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 14, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Doubletree Hotel Boston/Westborough, Westborough, Mass. Located at the junction of I-495 and U.S. Route 9, just north of the Massachusetts Turnpike (exit 11A). From Route 495 north or south, take exit 23B, which is Route 9 West, then 1st exit onto Computer Drive/Research Drive. Bear right off ramp. The hotel is 1/2 mile on the left hand side.

BACKGROUND: Gittell is the regional forecast manager and vice president of NEEP. His analysis will include regional and state comparison forecasts of overall economic activity and employment growth. Gittell's New England forecast will be followed by more in-depth discussions for each state in the region.

In addition, Jeffrey Sohl, director of the UNH Center for Venture, will present an analysis of entrepreneurship in the region, which is the focus of the NEEP conference, “New England's Entrepreneurial Engine: Building Tomorrow's Economy Today.” The conference will explore the role of entrepreneurs and small business in shaping the future of the New England economy and the policy imperatives that can support the kind of entrepreneurial environment New England needs to thrive.
