DURHAM, N.H. -- Jackie Eastwood, president and CEO of TissueLink Medical of Dover, will discuss how the company’s strong focus on the needs of customers has resulted in rapid growth of the business at the next University of New Hampshire CEO Forum, Thursday, June 8, 2006.
“TissueLink Medical – The Story” begins at 8 a.m. at the New England Center with coffee and breakfast, with the program commencing at 9 a.m.
Formed in 1999, TissueLink Medical is a private company in Dover that develops and markets disposable surgical devices that reduce or eliminate bleeding in surgery. The company’s products are used in 20 countries by surgeons to control bleeding in solid organ resections, orthopedic reconstruction and spine surgery. The company’s proprietary technology can apply to multiple surgical specialties addressing markets that exceed $3.5 billion.
Jackie Eastwood, president and CEO of TissueLink Medical, was named the 2004 Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur Of The Year in the medical devices category. Eastwood's philosophy behind the growth of TissueLink has been to deeply understand the needs of its customers, both medical practitioners and patients, in developing and manufacturing technology to seal tissue and reduce bleeding. The model has driven rapid product development with deep surgeon acceptance and an overall recognition by customers of TissueLink's dedication to them and their patients. The model has also been validated by the success of their technology: in just two years TissueLink captured more than 25 percent of U.S. liver resection procedures and has become the new "gold standard" for liver surgery. TissueLink is expanding its procedural applications, with a strong focus on orthopedic surgery.
