Recent news reports on the final results of the university's Separation Incentive Program and the layoffs that occurred in the wake of the state's unprecedented cut in higher education funding did not make it clear that the layoffs have been ongoing over many months. These are not new layoffs but rather the first time the outside media has followed up on the story. In the Dec. 14, 2011, issue of Campus Journal it was reported that 17 of those layoffs had already occurred (source). The remaining three layoffs occurred between December and March.
