Faculty invited to participate in commencement
This year faculty received a contemporary invitation to participate in commencement titled “Show Your Colors.” The President’ Office hopes to hear from more faculty interested in attending commencement. Please respond by visiting the UNH Home Page and clicking on the “commencement” button, or go to www.unh.edu/commencement. The commencement Web site will lead faculty members through the process of registering for commencement. More than 2,000 students are registered to participate in commencement. It is important to have significant faculty representation in order to preserve the prestige and tradition of this event.

Telecommunications work request deadline is May 14
The deadline for requesting Telecommunications’ work to be charged in FY04 is Friday, May 14. Work order requests received after May 14, will be charged to FY05. This applies to all work orders, installations, moves of phones and data equipment, and purchases of data equipment. The final bill for FY04 is June 1, 2004. As in previous years, the June 1 bill is the last bill of this fiscal year. The July 1 bill, which represents charges for June 1-30, 2004, is the first bill for FY05.

Domestic hot water/steam shutdown planned
The Heating Plant will be shut down for preventive maintenance from noon Saturday, May 22, until noon Friday, May 28. During that week, there will be no domestic hot water and no steam to those buildings listed below. No hot water and no steam: Conant (no heat to animal rooms), MUB, Field House, New Hampshire Hall, Hewitt, Pettee Hall, Kendall and Service Building. No steam only to these buildings (will have hot water): Huddleston, Spaulding, Holloway Commons, Rudman (will have hot water but limited air conditioning and no operational autoclaves). The buildings will have cold water and fire protection. Info: 2-1437.

Banner Student system usernames change May 15-16
Usernames for Banner Student system users will change over the weekend of May 15-16. All Banner Student system users should have received their new username and password in two recent letters about this conversion. These new usernames and passwords will be effective beginning May 17. It is important that each Banner Student user log into Banner between May 17 and May 30 using the new username and password. Any username that has not been activated by May 30 will be locked, and users will need to request an ‘unlock’ by contacting the CIS Help Desk at 2-4242. This change does not affect Banner Finance/HR accounts.

Retirement Party for Herb Salmon
A retirement reception will be held for Herb Salmon, Thursday, June 3, 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the 1st Floor Stoke Hall Lounge. Herb retires June 30, as manager of Information Technology for Business Services after 10 years of service.
