Deadline
for student aid application is March 1
The 2004-05 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available
at the Financial Aid Office, in the basement of Stoke Hall or online
at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The 2004-05 FAFSA deadline is March 1. This is the
date by which the FAFSA or renewal application must be received at the
federal processor.
Faculty
members, do your students know about UROP?
Faculty are asked to remind their students about the following upcoming
dates regarding the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program: Information
Session: Learn more about UROP and how you can get involved Wednesday,
Feb. 4, 4-5 p.m., MUB Room 302; Proposal Writing Workshops: Learn how
to write a proposal to UROP, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 4-5:30 p.m., MUB Room
330-332, and Tuesday, Feb. 17, 12:45-2 p.m., MUB Room 338; Undergraduate
Research Award application deadline: March 3; and SURF USA deadline for
summer 2004: March 3. There also is a new course available for students
interested in UROP — INCO 590: Student Research Experience. Faculty
members may identify students to work with them on activities related
to their teaching or research responsibilities. Variable credit. Support

Please
remind students about IROP deadline
Faculty members, if you have a sophomore who would like to pursue UNH-funded
undergraduate research abroad during the summer of 2005, the application
deadline for an IROP (International Research Opportunities Program) grant
is April 5. Interested students need a well-defined research project
and a UNH faculty mentor. Applications and information are available
at www.unh.edu/irop and
in Hood House 209. Call or e-mail IROP coordinator Georgeann Murphy at
2-1933 or georgeann.murphy@unh.edu if you have an interested student
and/or would yourself like to be an IROP mentor. Faculty receive a stipend
of $400 to be an IROP mentor.
Keep
your New Year’s resolution — join WW group
Join the Weight Watchers at Work Group on Mondays at noon at New Hampshire
Hall. A new session begins in February and everyone is welcome. Contact

Grant
deadline approaching
The spring application deadline for the Irvine Professional Development
Grant is Feb. 1. The $250 Irvine Grant is awarded twice yearly to support
the professional development of UNH administrative office professionals.
All benefits-eligible UNH/UNHM administrative office professional staff
are eligible to apply after one year of service. Information and to obtain
