Celebration
for Jim Cerny is rescheduled for Jan. 27
Please join us Tuesday, Jan. 27, for a celebration in honor of Jim
Cerny’s career at the university. He joined the Geography
Department in 1973 and has been a member of the CIS Enterprise Computing
Group for the past 25 years. The event will be held from 3:30 to
5:30 p.m. in the 1925 Room, Elliott Alumni Center. For those wishing
to contribute to a group gift, please send to Eileen Cooley, Enterprise
Computing, 1 Leavitt Lane, 2nd Floor. Snow date will be Jan. 28.
Campus Recreation offers CPR/First Aid classes
The Campus Recreation Department is offering American Red Cross
CPR/First Aid classes to faculty and staff on Friday, Jan. 16, 1-4
p.m. First Aid certification, (3-year); Friday, Jan. 23, noon-4
p.m., Adult CPR certification (1-year); and Friday, March 19, noon-4
p.m., Adult CPR certification (1-year). Classes are held in the
classroom of the Hamel Recreation Center in the Whittemore Center.
Registration form and payment are due at the front desk at the time
of the class. Classes are limited to eight people. Cost: Adult CPR
$32, First Aid $28, both certifications $45. For more information,

Keep your New Year’s resolution -- join WW group
Join the Weight Watchers at Work Group on Mondays at noon at New
Hampshire Hall. Sign ups for the new session begin in January and

IRB sets spring meetings
The Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects
in Research (IRB) set the following meeting dates for the spring
semester: Jan. 28, Feb. 11, Feb. 25, March 10, March 24, April 7,
April 21, May 5 and May 19. Deadlines for receipt of applications
for review are two weeks prior to the meeting date. For more info,
