United Way Campaign Underway
December 3, 2008
UNH’s annual United Way campaign will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 14. This year, in following with the university’s commitment to sustainability, the campaign has “gone green” and will be conducted online through the United Way’s “e-way” pledge process. Employees may donate online, through payroll deductions or as a one-time contribution via credit card or electronic check. Donations are tax deductible
President Mark Huddleston has sent a letter to the university community in support of the campaign and noting the mission of the United Way is similar to the work done at UNH: to change lives.

“The University of New Hampshire is proud of its longstanding partnership with this organization, and I hope you will consider making a donation,” Huddleston said in his letter.
Last year, UNH contributed $55,207, which helped support 79 nonprofit agencies in 47 communities throughout the greater Seacoast and southern Maine.
The $2 million raised by the university and other businesses throughout the state was used to leverage more than $4.2 million via federal and private grants and in-kind donations of time and goods through the UWGS Volunteer Action Center (www.uwgs.org), and distributed back to local communities.
The work of the United Way of the Greater Seacoast and its partners helps strengthen area communities and brings people together to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health.
