The Carsey Institute Fall 2006 Women and Work Colloquium series begins today, Sept. 20, with “Wives’ Relative Earnings and Labor Force Participation: Does She Exit if She Earns More?”
The presentation explores several factors that influence labor force transitions of married mothers with children, with a specific spotlight on the role of wives’ earnings relative to their husbands.

The Brown Bag Series on Northern New England starts Sept. 28
with, “Is the Middle Class Losing Ground?” in the
MUB, room 332.
Speakers include Ross Gittell, James. R. Carter professor of
management, Jason Rudokas, M.S. candidate, economics, Allison
Churilla, Ph.D. candidate, sociology. Allison Churilla will describe
characteristics of New Hampshire's low-income families and conclude
with reflections on state and federal policies relevant to this
population.
Presentations are held in the MUB from 12:40–2 p.m. on
Thursdays unless otherwise noted. Please bring your lunch. Everyone
