New Sign Foundation Set to Go

By Jody Record, Media Relations

Allen Speir of J.B. Leslie Co., works to finish the stonewall on Main Street where the new sign announcing the entrance to the University of New Hampshire will be installed next week.

It took six pallets containing about 40 square feet of rocks to make the wall. That’s about two tons of stone. A granite slab sits on top of the wall and granite balls will adorn the two columns. The 8-foot sign, crafted by Direct Sign LLC of Dover, is made of high density foam plastic that resembles stucco.
