New Hampshire’s Department of Cultural Resources recently unveiled its 2007 Living Legacy Calendar in the Map Gallery of the State Library in Concord. The wall calendar features 14 of the more than 230 libraries within New Hampshire, including UNH’s Dimond Library. The library will also be represented in an exhibit currently on display at the State Library.

In addition to Dimond Library, the following New Hampshire libraries are featured in the 2007 Living Legacy Calendar:

Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go to support international cultural exchanges administered by the State Department of Cultural Resources.

“We are delighted to once again join with the Department of Cultural Resources in creating this beautiful and unique calendar that recognizes the importance of the libraries in New Hampshire,” said Cathleen Schmidt, president and CEO of Citizens Bank New Hampshire. “Thanks to this partnership, we are able to honor the staff and volunteers whose tireless efforts allow New Hampshire residents to continue to enjoy the equal access to information and accessibility of libraries in their communities.”

“From the first public town library in Peterborough to the most recently built, New Hampshire’s libraries are not only part of our history, but continue to serve as a continually updated resource for the communities they serve,” said Van McLeod, commissioner of the Department of Cultural Resources.
