USNH is offering to all exempt staff, non-unionized operating staff and non-unionized fiscal year faculty hired prior to July 1, 2006, the opportunity to “cash-out” up to 5 days of vacation, or up to 5 earned time days (37.5 or 40 hours).
Check your mailbox for the necessary form.
The cash-out, part of the Trustee strategy to mitigate the increased cost of the medical plan contribution rates in January, 2007, applies to employees eligible for the standard vacation time/earned.
To take advantage of this opportunity, complete the Earned Time Cash-out form (http://www.unh.edu/hr/pdfs/Cash-Out-Form-EARNED-TIME-2007.pdf) or the Annual Leave Cash-out form (http://www.unh.edu/hr/pdfs/Cash-Out-Form-VACATION-2007.pdf) and return to the Office of Human Resources no later than February 2, 2007.
Any earned time/OS traditional leave or, PAT employees, extension educators, academic administrators and non-AAUP faculty annual leave days cashed out will not count towards minimum usage.
Cash-out days must be documented as time used on the leave record prior to submission of the form to your supervisor. The leave code will be CSHO (Cash Out).
- Your updated leave record must be attached to the Cash-out Form and forwarded to your supervisor for verification and signature.
- Forward completed forms with appropriate signatures to Human Resources. Forms must be received by the Human Resources office no later than February 2, 2007. Forms will not be accepted after that date.
- The cash-out lump sum payment will be reflected in paychecks on February 16, 2007, for non-unionized operating staff and on Feb.23 for PAT, EE, AA and non-AAUP fiscal year faculty.
- Keep in mind that the University will be closed Monday, December 25, through Friday, December 29, 2006. The closing this year will require the use of two earned time/OS traditional leave days.
- Staff grandfathered under the Operating Staff Traditional Leave program will use the Earned Time Cash -Out form.
