The UNH Presidential Search Committee continues to move the search toward a successful conclusion. Committee members have invested substantial time and energy into this process and I am very proud of the fine work they have done to date.
We have completed our meetings with the candidates that we selected for personal interviews and are working to narrow the field to three to four finalists that will visit the Durham and Manchester campuses for a series of meetings with our many constituent groups. We plan on announcing the dates for these visits within the next week so the many individuals who plan on participating in one of the open forums can reserve the date and time on their calendars. Shortly after that, we will make the names and biographical information of these finalists available to the public. We plan to videotape an open forum with each candidate and make the tapes available for viewing online so those who cannot attend can review them at a later time.
All of the feedback from the campus communities has been very helpful in guiding the committee. We were very pleased with the quality of the candidate pool and the number of candidates far exceeded our expectations. The level of interest in the position is a tribute to the hard work done by many to build UNH into the fine institution it is today. I look forward to a large turnout for the public events as the feedback we receive from attendees will be helpful to the committee. A high level of participation will also be important to prospective candidates as it shows our interest and also sends a strong message to the candidate about UNH and the UNH community.
Thank you,
Edward Dupont, Chair
