Music presents The Night Shift May 12

The Department of Music presents The Night Shift—UNH’s community chamber ensemble, featuring guest soloist, violinist Abe McWilliams, under the direction of Robert W. Eshbach. The concert takes place in the Bratton Recital Hall at 8 p.m., Friday, May 12.

The program includes Concerto Grosso in C Minor, Op. 6 No. 3 by Arcangelo Corelli, Legende by Henryk Wieniawski and Quartet in C Major, K. 465 by Mozart.

Abe McWilliams, 13, has been playing violin for seven years. A student of Ronan Lefkowitz of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, McWilliams, is also a member of Robert Eshbach’s violin studio. His previous teachers include Louise Wear and Louise Kandle.

McWilliams serves as a concertmaster for the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (GBYSO) Repertory Orchestra, plays in a GBYSO string quartet, and might be considered a long time member of the UNHSO were it not for those stalwarts who’ve played for over half a century, or thirty years, or ten.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 2-2404.
