Faculty Concert Series: David Ripley, Baritone, and Arlene Kies, Piano Introduce Ne Point Passer March 7 and 8

The Department of Music Faculty Concert Series will present baritone David Ripley and pianist Arlene Kies in a recital of French melodies by Gabriel Fauré and Henri Duparc. The duo has performed frequently at the university for the past 10 years, last year featuring Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin. This year’s recital is entitled Ne Point Passer (To Never Pass Away), words taken from the closing of the beautiful melodie poem Au bord de l’eau by Sully Prudhomme.

Centaur Records will shortly be releasing a CD of the concert, recorded earlier in Johnson Theatre. There will be two performances only in the Bratton Room of Paul Creative Arts Center, Tuesday and Wednesday evening March 7 and 8, at 8 p.m. Early arrival is suggested as seating is limited.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 2-2404.
