Effective January 1, 2007, the majority of The University System of New Hampshire employee medical plans will be offered through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (Harvard Pilgrim). After a comprehensive bid solicitation process involving both regional and national health plans, a system-wide working group charged with this review and analysis selected Harvard Pilgrim.
Even though medical coverage through CIGNA will cease at the end of this calendar year, the health care benefit design will not change in 2007. The HMO and other plans will continue to be offered. Harvard Pilgrim has already contracted with many PCP's that are not in its current network to join their network, in a continuing effort to insure as little disruption as possible for USNH staff and faculty.
More information about Harvard Pilgrim and the change will be announced over the next few months.
