The Department of Music presents the UNH Chamber Singers under the direction of William Kempster Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006 at 8 p.m. in the Bratton Recital Hall, PCAC.
As a prelude to their upcoming Australian tour, the Singers will perform the Missa pro fidelibus defunctis of Pierre de la Rue. This work is one of the early settings of the Requiem text, and stands as one of the great masterpieces of the mid-Renaissance. Equally comfortable with contemporary literature, Kempster has programmed Due composizioni corali by early twentieth century Italian composer Ildebrando Pizzetti, Ave verum corpus by contemporary Canadian composer Imant Raminsh and Me voy quedando by Argentinian composer Gustavo Leguizamon.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information,
