Faculty Urged to Foster Student Participation - Registration Open for URC ’07

December 6, 2006

Registration for the eighth-annual Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) is open. Students interested in presenting the results of fall-semester projects are urged to register now. The conference takes place April 20–28, 2007.

The URC casts a spotlight on the research and scholarship of hundreds of undergraduates from all of UNH’s schools and colleges, featuring symposia, events, performances, and awards. Last year, 27 students shared more than $23,000 for their award-winning presentations.

To participate, undergraduates or their faculty advisers should register online at: www.unh.edu/urc.

All undergraduates from Durham and Manchester who have completed, or are engaged in, a research, creative, service learning, or capstone project are eligible and encouraged to take part.

Faculty, teaching assistants, and staff members are urged to encourage undergraduate students to participate. The conference gives students the opportunity to prepare for and present research and scholarly findings in a professional setting, gain real-life experience, and enjoy the recognition of peers, faculty, families, and the general public.

Highlights of URC ’07 include the Student Composers’ Concert, featuring original compositions of students in the Department of Music, the 16th annual COLSA URC, featuring exciting research underway at the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture, and the Vice President’s Symposium, where students from all academic disciplines present their work through poster and oral presentations.
