P.T. Vasudevan,
professor of chemical engineering, was awarded the 2006 American
Society for Engineering Education (New England Section) Outstanding
Teaching Award.
The ASEE New England Section Outstanding Teaching Award is given annually to recognize excellence in classroom instruction and project advising of engineering, engineering technology or engineering science. The purpose of the award is to honor the recipient and to serve as an incentive to make further significant contributions to teaching.
The annual award was presented at the spring meeting of the section March 18 and consisted of a $250 honorarium and a certificate of recognition. The award is supported by John Wiley and Sons, Inc.

Brett Mongeon,
coordinator of UNH’s Off-Campus & Commuter
Student Services, was recently elected to the directorate board of
the American College Personnel Association’s Commission on
Commuter and Adult Learners.
American College Personnel Association (ACPA) is an organization
for Student Affairs Professionals. Headquartered in Washington,
DC at the National Center for Higher Education, it is the leading
student affairs association that advances student affairs and
engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery.
Just
last year Mongeon was selected by the association’s
Commission for Commuter Students and Adult Learners as the
recipient of its award for an Outstanding Commuter/Adult Learner
Perspective by a Student Development Professional (less than
five years).

Paula DiNardo, coordinator and prelaw advisor of State and National
Exchange Programs and The Washington Center Internships, has
been selected to receive the national 2006 Liaison of the Year
Award in recognition of her dedication and support of The Washington
Center. The center cited DiNardo’s efforts to recruit,
screen, monitor and debrief participating students, and her “wholehearted
commitment to ensure access of qualified students to this significant
life-changing opportunity.” DiNardo will receive the award
April 10, in Washington, D.C.
