Team Runs, Pedals, Paddles to Victory

A trio from UNH—Sackett Professor John Seavey (left) and McKerley
Professor of Health Economics Robert Woodward (right), both of Health
Management and Policy, and UNH Health Services Executive Director
Kevin Charles (second from left) —won the senior division
of the New Hampshire Seacoast Run, Pedal and Paddle triathlon in
New Castle Saturday, Sept. 17. With a total time of 2 hours, 54
minutes and 14 seconds, the team, called “Old Enough to Know
Better,” placed third in the overall standings.
Charles (10 kilometer run), Woodward (19.5 mile bike) and Seavey
(five mile kayak) were coached by Tamara Martin, Health Management
and Policy research assistant professor. The race raised nearly
$50,000 to benefit the Seacoast Physical Best Program, an initiative
overseen by Martin that will design and implement programming to
improve the fitness of children in 11 Seacoast schools.
