Durham Red Cross Blood Drive is Sept. 19-22
The first Durham Red Cross blood drive of the academic year will be held Sept. 19-22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Granite State Room, MUB. All blood types are needed. Donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health, weigh at least 110 lbs. and have a photo I.D. Info: 868-9692. (09-14-05)

Home buying and selling info session offered Sept. 19
Citizen’s Bank, a banking service that offers discounted services to USNH employees, is offering a home buying/selling information session. The session is Monday, Sept. 19, MUB 330/332, noon to 1 p.m. Whether you are ready or just want information regarding the buying or selling of a home, now is the time to meet with professionals that will take you through the home search, mortgage and home inspection processes with ease. A loan officer, a licensed REALTOR and a licensed home inspector will be present. First-time home buyers are welcome and encouraged to attend. Citizen’s Bank will also be offering a $250 coupon off closing costs to anyone that attends. (09-14-05)

Forums set for director of Affirmative Action and Equity

The Office of the Provost is conducting a search for the director of Affirmative Action and Equity. The 10-member search committee chaired by Wanda Mitchell, vice provost for diversity, is about to interview two new candidates from the extended search process. Public forums will be held on the UNH campus for the two candidates. Your participation in the public forums is requested and the search committee welcomes your input on the candidates.
 
The candidate A will be on campus Thursday, Sept. 15.  A public forum will be from 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. in MUB 302. The candidate B will be on campus Friday, Sept. 16. A public forum will be from noon– 1:15 p.m. in MUB 302. Copies of the candidates CVs can found at the Reference Desk of the Dimond Library. (08-31-05)

The International Research Opportunities Program (IROP) funds undergraduate research projects abroad every summer. Know a student who’s a good candidate? Want to be a mentor yourself? Information sessions for students to learn more about how they can develop a project, investigate a topic, and receive funding will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25, 3:30-4:30 p.m., MUB Room 302; and Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1–2 p.m., MUB Room 332. Proposal writing workshops are set for Wednesday, Sept. 21, 4-5:30 p.m., Rudman Hall, Room 381 (science and engineering methodology); Wednesday, Sept. 28, 4-5:30 p.m., Rudman Hall, Room 381 (science and engineering methodology); Wednesday, Sept. 28, 4-5:30 p.m., Hood House Solarium (social science methodology); and Thursday, Sept. 29, 4-5:30 p.m. MUB Room 302 (arts and humanities; all students welcome).
