SHARPP Moves To Verrette House, Across From Stoke Hall

The University of New Hampshire’s Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention Program (SHARPP) has moved to Verrette House, on Garrison Ave., across from Stoke Hall. The entrance is located on Ballard Lane, the door facing Grant House.

SHARPP formerly was located at 12 Ballard St. in UNH Health Services.

The office is staffed Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling the emergency crisis line - 862-7233 (SAFE) or 1-888-271-7233.

SHARPP’s mission is to eliminate sexual and intimate partner violence. SHARPP staff and advocated provide free and confidential advocacy and direct services to all survivors and their allies, as well as offering culturally competent awareness and prevention programs to the UNH community.

SHARPP’s direct services include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • One-on-one support
  • Medical and court advocacy
  • Assistance with academic interventions
  • Referrals
  • Information and support for survivors and their allies

SHARPP’s Education and Outreach Program provides:

  • Peer education programs and community forums
  • Awareness events
  • Take Back the Night March and Rally
  • Extensive library
  • Informational packets

All SHARPP’s services are peer based and can provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to members of the UNH community.
