Music Presents Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony Oct. 19

The UNH Department of Music proudly presents the Symphonic Band under the direction of Nicholas Orovich and the Wind Symphony under the direction of Andrew Boysen in concert on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at 8 p.m. in the Johnson Theatre, PCAC.

The Symphonic Band led by Nicholas Orovich will perform Four Dances from ‘Femmes d’Alger’ by Joseph Horowitz and orchestrated by John Boyd, An American Elegy by Frank Ticheli and the highly popular concert band work, Incantation and Dance by John Barnes Chance.

Andrew Boysen will lead the Wind Symphony with ...and the mountains rising nowhere by Pulitzer-prize winning composer and Spofford resident Joseph Schwantner. October by Eric Whitacre will be conducted by Erika Svanoe and graduate student Thomas Bourgault will conduct the highly percussive Three City Blocks by John Harbison.
