Traditional Jazz Series Presents Frank Wess and Terell Stafford Oct. 17

A refreshing interaction of musical generations will take place Monday, Oct. 17, when the UNH Traditional Jazz Series continues with saxophonist Frank Wess, a Count Basie alumnus vibrant in his early 80s, being joined by trumpeter Terell Stafford from Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington program, still in his 30s.

They will be assisted by pianist Michael Weiss, drummer Winard Harper, and Parisian bassist Francois Moutin. The concert is sponsored by the New Hampshire Library of Traditional Jazz archive in the Dimond Library, and the Department of Music.

The concert takes place in the Johnson Theatre, PCAC, and begins at 8 p.m. Single Tickets are priced at $8, senior citizen and student tickets sell for $6, and are available at the MUB Ticket Office, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., online at http://www.portsmouthnh.com, and at the box office one hour prior to the concert.
